Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) BSc BEd

We are offering ITEP BScBEd in Biology  (Secondary Stage) and Mathematics (Secondary Stage) starting July 2026, with approval from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE)

Teachers truly shape the future of our children – and, therefore, the future of our nation

- (NEP 2020, p.20)

A strong education system depends on knowledgeable and skilled teachers who can shape the way students think and learn. The National Curriculum Framework for Teacher Education (NCFTE, 2009) underscores the central role of teachers in fostering inquiry, critical thinking, and meaningful learning experiences.

The Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) in  Science and Mathematics is designed to prepare future educators who not only understand their subjects deeply but can also teach them in engaging and accessible ways.

The four-year undergraduate ITEP programme at Azim Premji University integrates high quality courses in education with rigorous academic training in science and mathematics. Our programme equips students with the knowledge, pedagogical skills, and practical experience needed to teach at the secondary school level effectively.

Graduates of this programme will be well-prepared to advance learning in classrooms, adapting to evolving educational needs while maintaining a strong commitment to student engagement and conceptual understanding.
