Arjun is a Professor of Economics at the School of Arts and Sciences at Azim Premji University in Bangalore, India. He was previously Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Massachusetts Boston. He is also closely involved with the Institute for New Economic Thinking. He has a PhD in Economics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Research Interests
Arjun's research straddles several areas:
(i) macroeconomics, especially issues of debt, balance sheets, the political economy of finance and central banking and macroeconomic policy choices
(ii) income distribution and inequality, in particular classical approaches to distribution, and group based inequalities,
(iii) on intellectual property and
(iv) the economics of power, He has also been closely involved with the CORE economics project.
