Faculty Positions in Language Education — School of Continuing Education and University Resource Centre
We invite applications for faculty positions in Language Education, preferably in the area of English language.
The School of Continuing Education and University Resource Centre (SCE-URC) provides a comprehensive in-service program focused on school education and development. The major thrust of the work in education is around pedagogy, assessments and material development. These in-service programs are offered to the public education system and civil society organizations throughout the country. Key stakeholders we work with are Teacher, Teacher Educators, Education functionaries, questions paper developers, Curriculum developers (including textbook writers).
We are seeking Language Education professionals who are deeply invested in developing perspectives and crafting engaging and innovative practices in pedagogy and assessment. This role requires both conceptual clarity in Language as a discipline and its multidimensional role in understanding other disciplines, and the ability to translate disciplinary thinking into meaningful classroom practice and teacher professional development programmes.
You should have:
- A Master’s degree in English, Linguistics, Literature, Education, Language Education or a related field. (Degree in Education is preferred)
- The ability to design and conduct short courses/workshops for teachers, teacher educators, and others involved in Language Education.
- An interest in curricular material development.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with various stakeholders in the field of education.
- Openness to travel across geographies, specially to the North-eastern states.
- The ability to communicate effectively in English, Hindi and any other regional language.
- Relevant experience as a teacher or teacher educator is preferred.
