Faculty Positions in System Biology and Bioinformatics
We invite applications for faculty positions in System Biology and Bioinformatics for our Undergraduate Programmes.
Azim Premji University, Bhopal, started operations in August 2023, offering postgraduate and undergraduate programmes. The first phase of campus construction is complete and the overall 50-acre campus with state-of-the-art academic and residential facilities will be ready over the next few years. We expect to grow to about 4000 students and 500 members over the next few years.
In addition to teaching in our programmes, we offer faculty an enriching and fulfilling institution-building experience encompassing interdisciplinary programme design, setting up and implementation of key institutional processes, culture building, and participation in various institutional bodies. The University encourages and offers support to faculty members for pursuing their own research.
We seek applicants who identify with the purpose of the University, and are keen to contribute to the design, development and delivery of courses of interest and expertise across the undergraduate BSc (Hons.) Biology programme.
We are particularly interested in: Systems Biology and Bioinformatics/Computational Biology/Neuroscience
- An advanced degree in Biology or a related field, with expertise in one or more of the areas outlined above.
- Strong educational interests and experience in laboratory work. Experience in designing and developing laboratory experiments, modules, and teaching laboratory-based courses will be an added advantage.
- Prior teaching experience is preferable.
- Minimum 5 – 7 years of post-PhD research and/or teaching experience preferred.
- An active research agenda, with the ability and interest to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, curriculum development, and student mentoring.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across disciplines and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Interest in teaching and working with a socially, economically, and academically diverse student cohort.
