Faculty Positions in Design for Communities
We invite applications for faculty positions in Design.
We invite practitioners and educators with a strong interest in practical design, making and building, using traditional as well as digital materials, processes, and ideas in their work. While we look for a good underpinning of the theory of design, our interest lies in people with a keen eye in making and prototyping with learners.
You will be expected to engage with students to guide them in creating objects and spaces with users in low-resource settings using appropriate tools, techniques, materials and processes. You will be helping students develop overall manual competence, and guiding them to learn skills and concepts ‘on the go’.
We are looking for candidates with expertise in the following areas:
- Digital Fabrication
- Knowledge and experience of working with a variety of materials
- Design process
- Building artefacts with both physical and digital interactions
- Using computer frameworks / languages to prototype behaviours
Candidates who have worked with artisanal communities and in real-world settings, are also encouraged to apply.
- Expertise and experience in at least one of the thematic areas listed above
- Strong commitment to teaching a diverse group of students

- Advanced degree / diploma in a relevant field
