Bridge Programme

We invite applications for the role of a Resource Person for our Bridge Programme.

Azim Premji University’s educational programmes aim to prepare graduates to be independent thinkers and autonomous learners who go on to be successful professionals committed values of justice, equity and sustainability in Indian society. The undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at the University aim to integrate academic study with learning outside the curriculum and overall well-being of students.

Central to the University’s vision, the Bridge Programme at the University is committed towards providing opportunities for students to secure admission to the various UG and PG courses in the University. The Bridge Programme is operating   in-person classes, at a physical space, with a well-defined course structure, duration, and with a clear objective of mentoring & preparing the student to clear our Entrance Test & enable admission into Azim Premji University. It will have online components also, as and when required.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching: Teach for four hours every day, from Monday to Saturday, including planning and preparation
  • Course Material Development: Select and write course materials, worksheets, and identify relevant resources, including practice sets and full-length mock test papers
  • Student Data Management: Maintain student profiles and record learning progressions
  • Student Engagement: Connect with individuals and groups to manage potential and motivation
  • Course Co-design: Collaborate to design a course that includes components of Mathematics and Quantitative Reasoning, spoken English, and descriptive and analytical writing, aligned with middle and secondary levels
  • Assessment: Conduct baseline, endline, and formative assessments of aspiring students, along with a follow-up plan
  • Timetable Design: Create timetables, weekly calendars, and assessment plans
  • Outreach: Identify and visit schools and colleges to interact with prospective students, screening them and finalizing a batch size of 50 for both UG and PG programmes. There will be two to four batches in the location of work
  • Pre and post admission support which involves email registrations, filling up applications, managing applications, enabling written test administration, interview discussions, meeting parents, financial aid documentation. Post admissions support would involve travel with parents and students to respective campuses for admissions
  • PG with 2 years or UG with 5 years of experience, preferably in tutoring, coaching or with a background of teaching in private schools
  • Social bent of mind or disposition to work with children from underserved backgrounds
