Faculty Positions in Financial Management of CSOs — School of Continuing Education and University Resource Centre
We invite applications from experienced practitioners for faculty positions in Financial Management of CSOs to be part of the School of Continuing Education and University Resource Centre (SCE-URC). The role requires strong technical expertise in CSO/ NGO accounting, compliance and finance.
The School of Continuing Education and University Resource Centre (SCE-URC) is responsible for in-service programmes in the domains of education, development and professional skills.
The SCE-URC aims to significantly enhance the capacity of the development ecosystem, which comprises of elected representatives, government functionaries, and civil society at large. Its primary role is to build perspectives, competencies and practical skills, which are relevant to different sets of stakeholders across all levels. Programmes will be offered across all thematic areas of human and social development.
Responsibilities:
Course development: Develop relevant course materials, toolkits, templates, and reference guides. Design and deliver training programs, workshops, and capacity-building sessions primarily for CSOs/ NGOs (Societies, Trustss, Sector 8 companies), early stage not-for profit organizations, farmer producer organizations/companies (FPOs/FPCs) on:
- Financial management
- Accounting and book keeping systems
- Governance practices
- Statutory compliances for NGOs
Training Stage: Orient visiting faculty and organisational leaders on the purpose of the programme. Lead capacity-building for participants. Foster a community of practice, as required.
Ongoing Monitoring: Monitor content effectiveness and address gaps for continuous improvement. Ensure timely availability and submission of participant data and training reports.
Build New Courses: Be part of conversations and initiate processes to assess capacity needs of different stakeholders. Over time, build a portfolio of offerings that respond to the emerging needs of stakeholders.
Others: Contribute to other programmes related to wider capacity development needs of stakeholders.
- M Com / MBA (Finance) / CA (Inter) / ICWA
- Minimum 7 – 8 years of experience in a small to mid-sized not-for-profit organization
- Strong knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles
- Experience in handling statutory compliances for the NGOs
- Experience of handing audit for the NGOs, in association with designated CA
- Experience engaging with finance/governance committees (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail in reviewing statutory and policy documents
- Proven experience in :
- NGO statutory compliances
- Audit coordination
- Donor reporting
- Fund flow projections
- Tally based accounting
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to design and develop curriculum / material in English and Hindi
- Ability to conduct structured training sessions and short courses in English and Hindi for mid-level to senior-level functionaries of Civil Society Organisations
- Strong analytical and financial review skills and ability to reflect and think critically
- Good oral and written communication skills in English and Hindi
- Willingness to travel extensively and work collaboratively and in teams
