Academic Associate — Applied Economics
We invite applications for the role of Academic Associate for our MA Applied Economics programme.
As an Academic Associate (AA) in Applied Economics, you will provide academic support to students and also contribute to developing courses and running the lab.
This is a 2‑year full-time position.
Responsibilities:
As an Academic Associate, you will,
- Work with faculty on 2 – 4 courses per semester with substantial mathematical, statistical, and programming content.
- Build skills and research work and do some real-time data analysis to support the faculty in classroom and Field learning.
- Conduct lab sessions for various courses to help students get familiar working with data and programming language.
- Conduct tutorials for students who need help with individualised support or review sessions for specific courses.
- Prepare accessible teaching material, assist in field practice, and provide extra support to student projects outside of class hours.
- Mentor postgraduate students of MA Applied Economics and provide guidance on their projects.
As an Academic Associate in MA Applied Economics, you will be able to engage in independent or collaborative research projects under the guidance of faculty members. You will be assigned a faculty mentor who will provide mentorship, feedback, and support in pursuing independent research projects.
- Master’s degree in economics or related field.
- Proficiency in MS Office – MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook.
- Proficiency and comfort working with data in R and Stata.
- An interest in mentoring and engaging with a socially and academically diverse cohort of students.
- Interest in mentoring, developing and engaging with accessible teaching and learning materials.
