Consultant — Mountains of Life

We invite applications for the role of Consultant for Mountains of Life.

Purpose:

Mountains of Life, an endeavor spearheaded by Azim Premji University, marks the third installment in our series dedicated to promoting awareness of nature and climate, following the successes of Rivers of Life and Forests of Life.

Summary:

The Consultant for Mountains of Life will play a crucial role in the successful execution and management of the festival, drawing inspiration from both the Rivers of Life and Forests of Life festivals. This position requires a versatile individual capable of handling administrative responsibilities and ensuring the smooth operation of the festival.

Responsibilities:

Administrative Support:

  • Manage day-to-day administrative tasks, including scheduling, documentation, and correspondence to facilitate the efficient functioning of the festival.
  • Oversee data collection activities related to mountain ecosystems, leveraging methodologies from the Rivers of Life and Forests of Life festivals.
  • Analyze research data, generate reports, and contribute insights to enhance the festival s scientific understanding.

Fieldwork and Expeditions:

  • Plan and organize field expeditions to mountainous regions for data collection and research purposes.
    Ensure the safety and compliance of fieldwork activities with relevant protocols and guidelines.

Community Engagement:

  • Engage with ocal communities in mountainous areas to foster understanding, collaboration, and sustainable practices in line with the festival’s goals.
  • Facilitate educational outreach programs to raise awareness about the importance of mountain ecosystems.

Budget Management:

  • Assist in the development and management of the festival budgets, ensuring effective utilization of resources.
  • Monitor expenses, provide financial reports, and contribute to budget planning for future initiatives.

Communication and Reporting:

  • Prepare regular progress reports for program leaders and stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and proposed solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of articles, publications, and presentations based on the festival’s findings. 
Qualification and Experience 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology).
  • Previous experience in program coordination, research administration, or related roles.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in data analysis tools and software.
  • Willingness to travel for fieldwork.
