We have announced the results of our Fellowship for Children’s Literature in Kannada, launched in September 2025. The fellowship invited original works in Kannada from both new and experienced writers across genres such as short stories, poetry, drama, biographies, travel writing, and novels.

  • 320+ Submissions
  • 10 Shortlisted entries
  • 13 Selected writers for workshop

The response was strong, with over 320 submissions from across Karnataka. A jury has shortlisted 10 entries by 9 writers for the next stage of publication. In addition, 13 writers have been selected for a two-day workshop at the university’s campus in Bengaluru (in Sarjapura). This initiative is part of Kathavana, the university’s annual children’s literature festival that promotes reading among children.

Shortlisted writers will receive editorial support through workshops and one-on-one mentoring to further develop their work. Authors whose manuscripts are selected for publication will receive a fellowship of up to INR 10,000. Workshop participants will also receive travel support and accommodation. Selected writers have been informed.
