We invite applications for the role of a Research Associate to work for the project titled Unforgetting Sylhetis: The Twice Born Refugees of India.”

About the project

The study seeks to understand the implications of the partition of Assam after the Sylhet Referendum that was held in July 1947.

As a researcher, you will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing literature relevant to the study and preparing summary notes.
  • Conducting archival research, mostly at the Prime Minister’s Museum and Library, located in Teen Murti House, Delhi.
  • Conducting archival research for 2- 3 weeks in the Archives Department of the Government of Assam in Guwahati.

The RA will be stationed in Delhi but will be required to travel to Northeast India for about 2 weeks for archival research in the Archives Department of Government of Assam

Qualification and Experience

Master’s degree in any of the social science disciplines, preferably History/​Political Science
