Faculty positions in Climate Studies
We invite applications for faculty positions in the Climate Studies occupational minor (OM) that will be part of the Undergraduate programme at the University.
As a faculty for Climate Studies you will be involved in teaching undergraduate level courses, curriculum development, and student mentoring. Opportunities to design and teach elective courses in your field of expertise will also be available. The University supports research by its faculty members and also encourages them to engage with public education in the sciences.
We are looking for candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Earth System & Climate Modelling (e.g., land-atmosphere-ocean interactions).
- Climate Impacts & Resilience (e.g., urban impacts, sea-level rise, extreme events, infrastructure).
- Ecosystem Science (e.g., carbon dynamics, biogeochemical cycles, impacts on biodiversity).
- Climate and Environmental Justice (e.g., impacts on vulnerable and marginalized communities).
- Field Work in Urban Ecology, Anthropocene studies.
- An advanced degree in any of the fields mentioned above
- Candidates with an advanced degree in a relevant discipline such as Earth and Environmental Sciences, Climatology, Atmospheric Science, Geography, or a closely related science are encouraged to apply
- Postdoctoral or teaching experience is desirable
- Strong interest in undergraduate education and research
- A proven track record of conducting interdisciplinary research that integrates knowledge from multiple fields (e.g., natural science data with social impacts).
