Academic Associate – Chemistry

We invite applications for the role of Academic Associate for Chemistry.

As an Academic Associate (AA) in Chemistry, you will provide academic support to students and also contribute to developing courses and running labs. 

This position will provide opportunity to explore innovative pedagogical practices and engage with a socio-economically diverse student cohort. This is suitable for those interested in working as well as those keen to pursue higher studies in the future. It also includes helping students with specific course requirements, queries regarding specific lab/​​​field course requirements and procedures. Candidates should be motivated and interested in teaching learning processes, enthusiastic about working with students, and demonstrate initiatives. 

This is a full-time one-year position, with a possibility of contract renewal for a second year upon review. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting faculty members in preparing and running labs for different courses
  • Supporting students in labs and by conducting tutorials
  • Creating and maintaining a week-wise calendar of activities concerning the chemistry lab
  • Assisting and mentoring students during labs and research projects
  • Participate in designing lab activities 
  • MSc/BS-MS degree in Chemical Sciences or any related discipline
  • Candidates with a background in Chemistry and substantial coursework in Mathematics at the undergraduate level will be preferred
  • An interest in engaging with a socially and academically diverse cohort of students
