We are looking for candidates with expertise in Project Management and interest in teaching and research in other domains of Development.
Project management constitutes a core component of our Postgraduate Programme in Development offered by the University. Its inclusion is intended to equip students with the practical skills and reflective capacity required to function effectively as development practitioners. Central to any development intervention is the ability to plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate programmes and projects. The University therefore seeks academics with demonstrated expertise in project management to teach and mentor students in this area. At the same time, the faculty would be required to teach other relevant courses in MA Development or MA Applied Economics programmes.
We are seeking candidates with practical experience and exposure to project management in development sector and substantive engagement in the domain as an academics to translate the knowledge and experience into effective, applied learning for postgraduate students.
- Good understanding of how projects are designed, planned, implemented, monitored and evaluated in social sector organisations.
- Decent academic engagement in areas such as theories and history of development, research methods for field practice, or any other related domain specialization such as ecology, economics, sociology to complement the core project management.
- Prior experience with project/programme level evaluations in the development sector is useful.
- Ability to facilitate hands-on learning in a workshop mode.
