Internship: Biodiversity conservation
Will be facilitated during the 7th semester if students choose to align their internship to the OT
The OT will facilitate internships (a total of 15 credits) for students during their 7th semester if they choose to align their internship to the OT. These internships will be offered in collaboration with various organisations (both academic and NGOs). These will be closely supervised by both instructors at the University and at partner organisations. Organisations that work in the fields of conservation, biodiversity monitoring, and allied fields will be approached for internships.
Biodiversity Conservation OT will coordinate internships for students who choose to take up projects in the broad fields of ecology and conservation. Projects will involve on-ground monitoring of wildlife or vegetation sampling as part of conservation and restoration projects, working with communities on conservation issues and biodiversity assessments (including PBRs), and geospatial analysis for conservation. The skills acquired through courses such as, ‘Research methods in biodiversity assessments and conservation’ and the knowledge of conservation issues (through other courses) will be useful when students embark on their internships. These skills, along with the experience gained through interships will be very important in making students job ready.
