This course intends to help students build a foundation in music. Learners will explore different styles of music from around the world, in addition to focusing on performative competence and basic theoretical understanding. Students will engage with the course through discussions, extensive listening to different global musical styles, and performances. They will also gain an appreciation for various cultures since music is deeply connected to new perspectives and ways of seeing the world.
