Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL)’s nearly 5‑km-long corridor between Nagarbhavi Circle and Sumanahalli Cross might lead to the loss of 652 trees of 34 species, as highlighted by Garima Prasher in Bangalore Mirror.

Once removed, 280 metric tonnes of carbon, currently being sequestered, would be released into the environment. This is according to a rapid Environmental Impact Assessment report on the stretch prepared by researchers from Azim Premji University.
