Banu Mushtaq’s Booker-winning stories on stage in Bengaluru on February 27
Omme Hennagu, to be attended by Mushtaq, will be hosted by the Indian Heritage Academy (IHA) in collaboration with Azim Premji University.
Omme Hennagu is a theatrical adaptation of selected stories from Banu Mushtaq’s acclaimed collection Edeya Hanate (Heart Lamp), which won the 2025 International Booker Prize. The play weaves together four stories; The Stone Slabs of Shaista Mahal, Black Cobra, Edeya Hanate, and Be a Woman Once, Oh Lord! into a single narrative that questions the deep structures of patriarchy.
