Research Associate
We invite applications for the position of Research Associate to work on a project on study the role of Sala-Sangathis in Interventions to improve Teaching-Learning in Municipal Schools of Kalyan, Maharashtra.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct literature review required for the research project and develop contextual understanding of public education policy and practice.
- Design and implement qualitative research studies- develop tools for interviews, FGDs and school/classroom observations and execute the same to collect relevant data.
- Collaborate with SAJAG team members to document practices and institutional processes.
- Analyse data and develop thematic discussions on research questions.
- Help in the preparation of the final report.
- Proficiency in spoken and written Marathi and English.
- Strong research and documentation skills; ability to conduct interviews and synthesise findings.
- Understanding of the public education system and the contemporary education policies
- Ability to build rapport with teachers, education officers, and local communities.
- Self-motivated and organised, with the ability to manage time independently.
- Willingness to travel within Kalyan for fieldwork.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree- Social Work, Sociology, Anthropology, Education, or a related Social Science discipline.
- Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. dissertations are welcome to apply.
