Janato Art explores how art can bring stories, histories, and ideas into the spaces we inhabit every day.

Our Campus Mural Project, which began in 2022, has brought traditional and contemporary artists into Azim Premji University. Murals across common spaces, seminar halls, and hostels draw from different artistic traditions and engage with ideas of diversity, pluralism and constitutional values.

The work has also travelled beyond the University, with murals at the Foundation’s health centres in Bengaluru, taking art into spaces used by communities every day.

At Sabarmati (Azim Premji University’s Welcome centre at the Bengaluru campus), art takes on another role. The project traces the work and journey of the Azim Premji Foundation through art, allowing people to encounter the Foundation’s history and work through visual storytelling rather than a conventional institutional narrative.

Together, these projects reflect what Janato Art wants to do: tell stories through art, bring artistic traditions into new spaces, and create encounters between artists and wider public audiences.
