About the session
Are you considering studying science at university and wondering what it could offer you? You may have heard that technical skills and work experience matter more than a degree or wondered what a science classroom can teach when AI can analyse data, generate code and solve mathematical problems.
Join the faculty from Azim Premji University for a conversation on what it means to study science today. The session will explore why experimenting, questioning and working through problems remain essential to scientific learning, and what students gain from learning alongside faculty and peers on a university campus.
We will also discuss how a science education connects knowledge with practical skills and prepares students for diverse careers and further study in a changing world.
Who should attend?
This session will be useful for:
- Students in Classes 11 and 12 exploring undergraduate science programmes
- Parents interested in understanding the value of a science education
- School counsellors and teachers supporting students with higher-education decisions
Why attend?
The session will help you understand:
- How AI and digital resources are changing the way science is taught and learnt
- Why hands-on experiments, observation and learning from mistakes build scientific understanding
- How classroom discussions and collaborative work help students question evidence and solve complex problems
- What students gain from studying science on a university campus
- How a science degree prepares students for a broad range of careers and further study
There will also be time for questions during the live session.
