Sustainability
Our activities as humans and our use of resources hugely impacts sustainability and the environment. High resource consumption is a problem across the world, and there are big differences in consumption between the global North and global South and countries within these regions.
This set of courses offer a socioecological systems perspective for you to understand the interactions between society and nature that impacts sustainability. We will look at the many steps made towards creating sustainable futures in a highly unequal world by working across scales from the locals to global. It is important to understand the many challenges involved in creating sustainable frameworks across different contexts. We will examine the ideas of equity, environmental justice and human well being that are critical for creating sustainable societies.
