The field immersion will be a structured three-week component where you will get an exposure to sustainability challenges, in a real-life complex field environment. You will have guided visits to sites and engage with organisations involved in developing and implementing sustainability interventions in a linked social and ecological environment. The settings will be in diverse contexts for example forests, cities, wetlands and so on, and will involve engagement with different communities including indigenous forest communities and farmers. The course will provide an opportunity for you to observe the concepts learnt in class in a field setting, and appreciate the lived experiences of implementing social-ecological sustainability interventions in the real world.
