As a growing economy, India offers a plethora of challenges and opportunities for social entrepreneurship to flourish and achieve socio-economic solutions. However, the social sector itself has remained nascent and unprovoked.
The concept of Social Enterprise Mela (SEM) arose to meet this gaping hole with an initiative to create a platform for networking between entrepreneurs and students, while also developing an interest in pursuing entrepreneurship in the social sector.
The first edition of SEM will host a forum for promising and budding social entrepreneurs to present their ideas, stories, and entrepreneurial experiences. The event will also see panel discussions from prominent philanthropists, incubators, industry experts, and social change veterans.
The event is intended to give students of Azim Premji University and other universities around Bengaluru to network, share knowledge, learn, and be encouraged to take a step towards realising their goals of starting their social enterprise.
Social Enterprise Mela 2023 will be a day-long event conducted at Azim Premji University, Bengaluru, on Friday, 10 February 2023.
