Biography
Samudra is working with the Community Engagement Initiative and serving as a Teaching Faculty at Azim Premji University, where he has developed and teaches a course on Service Learning for undergraduate students. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he coordinates fieldwork and project oversight for both undergraduate and postgraduate students, guiding them through internships, field immersion, and community engagement initiatives.
He also mentors students as part of the Social Enterprise Cell, supporting their efforts in organizing workshops and events focused on entrepreneurship and innovation. Prior to this role, he worked as a Fieldwork Coordinator at North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), where he designed fieldwork formats and supervised postgraduate students.
His professional experience also includes collaboration with UNICEF India, where he conducted awareness sessions on critical issues such as maternity care and sanitation. His research background includes positions as a Research Assistant at Freie Universität Berlin and as a Field Researcher with Collaborative Research and Dissemination (CORD) in Delhi.
Samudra holds a Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Political Science and a Master’s degree in Social Work, both from the University of Delhi. He completed his M.Phil. in Sociology from the Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi. His M.Phil. dissertation, titled “Everyday in the Information Age”, explored the intersections of daily life and digital modernity.

The Library as a Site for Holistic Learning
This course will introduce the students to the community libraries in the context of the state of Karnataka and will help them to understand their working dynamics.
