Her doctoral work employs accounting techniques and time-series econometrics to examine India’s tryst with exports-led growth and document its departure from the experiences of post-war continental Europe and East Asia.

She has been an ICSSR Fellow and holds a PhD in Economics from Gauhati University. She has previously taught macroeconomics, international economics, development economics and time-series econometrics in GITAM University, and earlier for a short while in Pandu College and Gauhati University.
