Jigisha Shastri
Biography
Jigisha is a visiting faculty at School of Education.
Jigisha is an Early Childhood Care and Education Specialist, with over 40 years of experience. She is a dynamic ECCE leader with experience in teaching, research and development work. She has been instrumental in conceptualising and supporting private and public sector Early Childhood programmes. She consistently works with Gujarat state on a range of early childhood initiatives, and contributes to ECCE work of IGNOU, NCERT at the National level.
She has been associated with Azim Premji Foundation since 2013 and has been integral in developing University teaching programmes and field intervention programmes on early childhood education for different states. She has been a core team member for designing Sangareddy Early Childhood Education Initiative of the Foundation.
She has authored books for teachers, children, and early childhood professionals. She is Co-Editor of Teaching the young: The early childhood profession in India, published by Orient Blackswan 2024. She was selected by the World Forum Foundation as a Global Leader from India for the year 2009 – 2010 and was an ARNEC representative for India.
