Research Assistant — Social Network and Forest Conservation
We invite applications for the role of Research Assistant for Social Network and Forest Conservation Project.
As a Research Assistant, you will be assisting in various Research Projects, specifically a project on Social Network and Forest Conservation (broad area environment and development economics).
Responsibilities
The role involves assisting in Research Projects with data analysis, literature search & literature survey, proofreading the documents and other allied activities. It will also involve field visits in Madhya Pradesh, conducting interviews and supervising survey enumerators.
1) Field visit and survey: The Research Assistant will visit the field areas, conduct qualitative interviews and will be supervising the survey enumerators engaged in quantitative survey
2) Assist in the data analysis: The Research Assistant, will assist in data cleaning, merging and data analysis based on primary and secondary data sources
3) Assist in the literature survey: The Research Assistant, will be expected to do a survey of the existing literature and create an annotated bibliography, and do a more detailed literature survey, later
4) Assist in editing research papers, creating references and the index
- Masters in Economics/Bachelors in Economics
- Knowledge of statistical software such as STATA or R
- Knowledge of GIS software
- Previous experience in conducting field surveys is preferred
- Experience working with economic datasets such as the NSS, IHDS etc., is preferred
- Familiarity with searching material online – including academic research and relevant literature
- Knowledge of Hindi
