Academic Associate – History

We invite applications for the role of Academic Associate for History for the Undergraduate Programme.

As an Academic Associate (AA) in History, you will provide academic support to students and also contribute to developing courses.

This position will provide opportunity to explore innovative pedagogical practices, engage with a socio-economically diverse student cohort, and develop interesting learning tools. It will also include helping students with specific course requirements, procedures, and History Club activities. Candidates should be motivated and interested in teaching, enthusiastic about working with students, and demonstrate initiatives. 

This is a full time one-year position with a start in April/​May 2024, with a possibility of contract renewal for a second year upon evaluation.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting faculty members in preparing and running tutorials for different courses.
  • Assisting students during the tutorials, and especially helping students with learning challenges.
  • The AA is encouraged to participate in designing the tutorials. 
  • Mentoring students for course projects and other assignments.
  • Participate and help in organising activities like, local trips to historical places, events, workshops and social media engagement and History club activities. 
  • An interest in working with schools and teachers for developing materials for teaching history would be beneficial.
  • MA in History/​Archaeology or any related discipline
  • An interest in teaching and engaging with a socially and academically diverse cohort of students
