Faculty positions in English
We invite applications for faculty positions in English for our Undergraduate Programme.
We encourage applications from candidates who work in the areas of English and Creative Writing.
The BA English programme at the University teaches literature with a focus on building capacities in writing, and sensibilities in reading different kinds of texts belonging to traditional and newer forms. Alongside papers that seek to build knowledge in literatures produced in a range of regions and time periods, our programme also offers courses in allied areas like Writing, Language and Translation.
We seek applications from candidates who can teach courses related to:
- English language
- Analysis of texts in traditional and newer forms
- Creative writing
- Academic reading and writing
- Public reasoning
We encourage applications from candidates belonging to historically underrepresented social groups and communities, including people with disabilities.
- An advanced degree in Creative Writing, English, or related areas
- Experience in teaching courses on creative writing and literature
- A portfolio of published creative and public-facing writing
- A strong commitment to teaching literature, reading, writing and common curriculum courses in a diverse classroom
- Active writing/research agenda and a willingness to contribute to an undergraduate English curriculum grounded in the Indian context
