The Science Undergraduate Pedagogy Conference (SUP) 2027 is a regional gathering organised by the Undergraduate Science Educators’ (USE) Network at Azim Premji University. The conference brings together like-minded educators and researchers interested in undergraduate science and mathematics education to share teaching experiences, discuss classroom practices, and explore new approaches to teaching and learning.

SUP provides a space for educators to exchange ideas, reflect on challenges in their teaching contexts, and learn from one another. It encourages conversations around pedagogical practices that are relevant to the diverse contexts of undergraduate education in India.

The 2027 edition marks the third year of SUP and will be hosted by Azim Premji University at the Indian Heritage Academy, Koramangala, Bengaluru, on 23 Jan 2027.

We welcome applications from: 

  • Lecturers and professors currently teaching undergraduate science or mathematics
  • PhD and Postdoctoral Scholars with undergraduate teaching/​ teaching assistance experience

The conference will feature opportunities to share experiences, discuss ideas and engage with fellow educators through:

  • Interactive workshops and talks: Sessions exploring specific themes and approaches in undergraduate science and mathematics education.
  • Poster presentations: Opportunities to showcase teaching practices, classroom initiatives and research related to undergraduate education.

A detailed programme and schedule will be shared with registered participants closer to the event.

Interested participants are invited to submit:

1. A short statement of interest

Tell us about your interest in undergraduate science or mathematics education. You could write about your teaching experiences, classroom challenges, ideas you would like to explore, or what you hope to gain from participating in SUP 2027.

You may type your statement directly into the application form or upload it as a Word document, PDF, video or audio recording, whichever format you find most comfortable.

2. An abstract (optional)

If you would like to present a short talk or poster, you may submit an abstract describing your teaching practices, classroom initiatives or research in undergraduate science or mathematics education.

We encourage applicants to express their thoughts in their own words and discourage the use of AI-generated or AI-polished submissions. Grammar, writing style and production quality will not influence the selection process. We are interested in understanding your ideas and experiences, and ask only that your submission be clearly communicated.
