Azim Premji University presents a tribute to Dr Rajkumar — the iconic actor, humanitarian, and cultural symbol of Karnataka — celebrating his enduring legacy through film, music, discussion, and personal memory. 

This event, blending performance and academic reflection, is part of the Kannada Initiative​’s Samskruti Sambhrama series, celebrating Karnataka’s rich cultural heritage.

Popular Bengaluru singers Mohan Krishna and Gowri will render selections from Dr Rajkumar’s films. This will be followed by a screening of a short documentary An Analysis of a Phenomenon by Maya Chandra. 

Senior journalist R Manjunath Chavan will speak on the personality of Muthuraju, while Dr Soumya Manjunath Chavan, Former Director and Second Secretary, Culture, Swamy Vivekananda Cultural Centre, High Commission of India, Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, will examine the continuing relevance of messages from his films. 

The evening will also see the presence of family members, including Lakshmi Govindaraj, S A Govindaraj, Poornima Ramkumar, Vinay Rajkumar and Dhanya Ramkumar.
