Educators’ Roundtable

What does a career in education have to offer?

MPH Consultative workshop June 2024 1

About the session

This roundtable brings together teachers, school leaders, NGO professionals, and graduating students to explore what it truly means to grow as an educator in contemporary times. Facilitated by faculty members from Azim Premji University, the session moves beyond the conventional idea of teaching as only classroom delivery. It opens up the rich and interconnected worlds of policy frameworks, pedagogy, curriculum design, early childhood education, classroom practice, and assessment.

Through live discussions and the sharing of lived experiences, participants will reflect on how degrees in education help build a strong professional identity, develop research-driven practice, and strengthen the confidence needed to design meaningful learning environments. The session will also explore how educators can influence change across classrooms, schools, and larger educational systems.

Who should attend?

This roundtable is ideal for anyone interested in pursuing or advancing a meaningful career in education. It will be especially relevant for:

  • Graduating students exploring their next steps and considering education as a career.

  • School leaders and administrators shaping learning environments and institutional practice.
  • NGO professionals working in education, community development, or related social sectors.
  • Anyone curious about how an education degree can expand opportunities and contribute to systemic change.

Whether you are already working in the education sector, beginning your journey, or unsure of what to do after graduation, this roundtable offers insights, clarity, and inspiration.
