Bank of Baroda 300

Representations of Dr B R Ambedkar, one of India’s foremost icons, have grown across a wide range of fields. This exhibition explores Ambedkar’s portrayal through collectible items not originally intended to last for more than a short time. These include portraits, posters, calendars, packing labels, philatelic deposit account cards, train tickets, flight boarding passes, websites, newspaper cuttings and tickets for musical performances, among others.

The exhibition captures how Ambedkar’s image has featured in various governmental and non-governmental spaces, reflecting his prominence as an icon of social justice and equality. The exhibition’s distinct focus extends our understanding of Ambedkar in a new direction.
