Public health as a discipline has evolved over the years and the seminar discusses the interdisciplinary nature of the field and challenges associated with it. It attempts to unfold the functions of public health and requirements to overcome unforeseen circumstances.
The recent pandemic of COVID 19 has reignited the debate around the requirement of a robust public health system. The seminar dicusses the possible roles of public health professionals and the probable challenges they could encounter. The case study helps us to unfold the social determinants of health and their influence on improving health of the population. The discussion concludes with possible roles of future public health professionals.
