Reflections of Teachers on Pedagogic Practices

We invite you to this webinar, where we interact with some of our alumni who are school teachers in various spaces around the country. Hear from them their experiences in the classroom, some of the major challenges they face and ways of handling those challenges.
The webinar will revolve around their personal experiences and how they connect to some of the larger questions around pedagogy, schooling, and education in India.
About the speakers
Nita Singh (MA in Education, 2017 – 19), an experienced educator with a master’s degree in education, specializes in social studies and history for middle and high school students, driven by a passion for making a difference in children’s lives through innovative teaching methods.
Riya (MA Education, 2019 – 21) is a teacher who is deeply interested in pedagogical practices within and outside the classroom that lead to conversations on social structures, particularly gender. She is currently teaching English at a private school in Hosur, Tamil Nadu.
Jagannath S (BSc BEd Biology, 2018 – 22), a dedicated science educator at The Galaxy Education System in Rajkot, teaches science, mathematics, and global perspectives to middle school students, inspiring a love of learning and curiosity in young minds.
Dhruva Desai is a faculty at Azim Premji University. Dhruva enjoys thinking about ways to create more inclusive and participative physical education and playing cultures in educational spaces and communities. He has been a school teacher at different schools across the country for primary and high school age groups, teaching languages, theatre, physical education, and engaging in library work.
