Mo L Call for internship

Mountains of Life – Our Nature and Climate Awareness Festival Series

This 3‑month Art and Installations Internship at Azim Premji University offers students and young practitioners the opportunity to showcase their creativity and talent by conceptualising and creating a public art installation for the festival.

Successful applicants can participate in all stages of the project, from design to built realisation. Projects will aim to inspire participants to imagine mountain forms from the obvious to the mysterious.

Artists and designers using technology, craftspeople building life-size models, mappers and storytellers, poets and artists, traditional artisans and young minds reimagining mountains in fresh and different ways – we welcome you all to apply.

Your submission must demonstrate its connection to at least one of the following themes:

  1. Mountains as Geological Processes
  2. Flagship Species and Mountains
  3. Living in the Mountains
  4. 4. Fragility of Mountain Landscapes

Applicants must submit a 500-word concept note and storyline that includes the title, description, theme, proposed methodology, and timeline.

They must also upload a portfolio containing 5 images of their artwork. This must be accompanied by an installation design plan that outlines the conceptual diagrams explaining the functioning of the installation, material usage, and the use of upcycled, eco-friendly materials.

Shortlisted interns will be invited for an interview, based on the submitted storyline and portfolio. The selected finalists will be mentored, attend curated workshops, and will be encouraged to further develop their storyline over the course of the internship. Final submissions will be created and curated for the festival planned in November 2024.
