Stakeholders and Relationship Management
Engage with and manage relationships with stakeholders to achieve organisational goals
Social Sector Organisations (SSOs), irrespective of size, domain, and approaches, work in an ecosystem with different stakeholders. For managers in SSOs, engaging with stakeholders, understanding and managing their expectations, is crucial to achieving organisational goals. This course focuses on three external stakeholders that are likely to have the most significant impact on SSOs — communities they work with, donors, and the state. It will first introduce the idea of stakeholders in the context of SSOs and why it matters to effectively manage them. It will then help participants to understand and analyse various stakeholders’ interests, possible tensions among them, and their potential to influence the operations of SSOs. The course will build skills for engaging with stakeholders, managing their expectations, and building relationships with them.
