The course provides students with a broad overview of the policy, systems and programmes on ECCE. It aims to provide a systemic perspective on care, education and safety provisions for children in India through policies, structural elements, and quality criteria. 

The course complements the development of an overall understanding of ECCE as a domain of practice along with the Foundations of ECCE course offered in semester I of the MA in ECCE programme.
