Cognitive Neurosciences is a core course in the fourth semester of Psychology majors and also part of the minor sequence. his course will be both theoretical and practical- will enable students to understand the fundamentals of various mental processes, through well-established theoretical frameworks, complemented with knowledge of underlying neuronal mechanisms. The course will be an advanced course, building upon concepts from the ​‘Brain and Behaviour’ course. While the second core course ​‘Brain and Behaviour’ provided a comprehensive systems view of the brain and associated cognitive and behavioural patterns, this course would focus on important cognitive processes, namely, perception, attention, memory, computation, emotions, and decision-making. The ​‘Cognitive Neurosciences’ course, along with the existing ​‘Programming for Cognitive Psychologists’ course would help students with the domain expertise and skills required for future courses such as ​‘Lab Techniques in Cognitive Science’ and ​‘Psychopathology’. In summary, students would be trained to discuss and apply prevalent theories, neurobiological underpinning, and empirical evidences for cognition through this course
