Vidya comes with a total work experience of eighteen years. She has a master’s degree in Environmental Management and Development from the Australian National University, Canberra, Australia and a master’s degree in Environmental Science from Bangalore University. She completed a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from Bangalore University. 

Vidya has earlier worked with SaciWATERs, Hyderabad, Telangana, as a Research Associate. Her research interests include water management in rural and urban areas, gender, technology and livelihood.

Vidya enjoys reading, running, gardening and listening to music.
