Biography
Shilpa is a committed leader and advocate at the intersection of gender, menstrual health, and sexual and reproductive rights, with six years of experience as a facilitator and design consultant, notably with Uninhibited.
She brings expertise in participatory design and curriculum development, with sectoral experience spanning adolescent health education, workplace menstrual equity, action research, and gender-responsive programming for adolescent boys and men. Her work has combined systems-level curriculum design, including an agency-focused MSRH curriculum adapted across multiple states, with on-ground facilitation, having trained around 150 master trainers who have collectively reached over 90,000 people.
Shilpa’s practice is rooted in a rights-based, community-centred approach that values collaboration, care, and creative ways of working. She has led selection and leadership processes for fellowship cohorts and co-designed a COVID-era telemedicine helpline for menstrual and sexual reproductive health.
Outside her professional practice, she is a musician exploring music beyond the mainstream.
