Biography
Satyam is completing his PhD in Economics at Ashoka University and expects to receive his degree in August 2026. He holds an MA in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and a BA (Hons.) in Economics from the University of Delhi.
His research interest is in applied economic theory, with a focus on information economics and behavioral economics. He is particularly interested in models of strategic communication and in experiments that study social preferences.
His doctoral thesis, Essays in Applied Game Theory, develops theoretical models of strategic communication, including applications to ethnic conflict and communication between partially informed individuals. In addition to theoretical research, he conducts lab-in-the-field experiments to examine how economic status shapes trust, altruism, and bargaining behaviour. His work seeks to combine rigorous economic theory with empirical evidence to better understand strategic behaviour and social interactions.
