Biography
Rajani Gopal Krishna is a Chartered Accountant with over two decades of experience spanning the corporate and development sectors. She began her career with The Indian
Hotels Group and Infosys Ltd., before moving into the social sector, where she has worked extensively with civil society organisations (CSOs) to strengthen financial
accountability and governance.
Since 2012, she has led finance and administration functions in leadership roles, including at CBM India Trust, and since 2020 she has been with the Azim Premji Foundation, focussing on capacity building, compliance, financial management, and governance for CSOs across India. She regularly facilitates workshops and training programmes in both English and Hindi for board members and finance professionals in the sector.
Rajani’s expertise covers statutory compliances (Income Tax Act, FCRA, Labour laws, etc.), donor reporting, policy drafting, grant cycle management, and financial capacity building. She also serves as an Honorary member of the Finance Committee at Chanakya University. Rajani is a qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, 2003), with a bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Bangalore University, 1990), a PG Diploma in Finance & HR Management (SCDL Pune, 2009), and a Diploma in Financial Management & Accountability (FMSF – TISS, 2015).
Her contributions have been widely recognised with prestigious awards, including the “First Ladies” Award (2018) by the Ministry of Women & Child Development, National Award (2014) from the President of India, and several state-level recognitions. She has also been featured in Nightingales 2.0: How Eleven Women showed Grit, Guts & Gumption- publication by Dr. Rangaswamy Academy for Fiscal Research & The Society of Auditors.
Beyond her professional work, she is deeply committed to mentoring students, including those with disabilities, and is a motivational speaker at universities and professional forums.
