Biography
Raisa is a mathematician and educator, with a research focus on algebraic topology and spectral graph theory. Raisa completed her bachelor’s and master’s from Mount Carmel College in Bengaluru and her PhD from IIT Madras. Her area of research is in Algebraic Topology, in particular the topology of real toric varieties and small covers. She is also interested in graph theory and studying the spectral properties of the matrices associated with graphs.
Before joining Azim Premji University, Raisa worked at Chanakya University, Bengaluru for a year. She also worked at St Joseph’s University, Bengaluru for nearly seven years where she taught several Mathematics courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She shares a commitment to nurturing students’ understanding and appreciation of Mathematics.
