Biography

Praveen earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mathematics from the University of Delhi and his PhD in Mathematics from the Chennai Mathematical Institute, Chennai, India. 

Prior to joining Azim Premji University, he served as an Assistant Professor at NMIMS MPSTME, Mumbai. He has also held postdoctoral positions at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, the Sami Shamoon College of Engineering, Israel, and the UMDAE Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences, Mumbai.

His research interests lie in algebraic geometry, particularly problems related to Seshadri constants and positivity, moduli spaces and the topology of complements of curve arrangements on surfaces. Apart from research, he is passionate about teaching and making mathematics more accessible. 

In his free time, he enjoys playing sports.
