Biography

Pankaj Chatterjee is a distinguished academic leader, administrator, and hospitality professional possessing a rich experience spanning 23 years across Industry, Academics, Administration and Training & Placement functions.

He holds a PhD in Human Resource Management, an MBA in Tourism & Hospitality Management and is a Science Graduate (BSc). His foundational professional training was completed via a Three Year Diploma in Hotel Management.

In his extensive academic career, Pankaj has established a proven track record in institutional governance and departmental leadership. He served the Institute of Science and Management (ISM), Ranchi, in various capacities, starting his journey in academics as a Lecturer and eventually rising to the position of Dean (Students Affairs).

His most recent comprehensive assignment was at RKDF University, Ranchi, Jharkhand, where he held the vital tri-partite roles of Dean Students Welfare (DSW), Assistant Registrar (Establishment) and Associate Professor & Head of the Department of Hotel Management. Within this role, he was central to managing university establishment affairs, student welfare policies, administrative compliance and dynamic curriculum design focused on industry readiness.

Before transitioning full-time into academics and administration, Pankaj acquired core operational expertise in the hospitality industry, notably serving as the Food & Beverage Manager at Vainguinim Valley Resort, Goa. This blending of frontline industry leadership with advanced academic research allows him to bring a unique, pragmatic perspective to hospitality education.
