Biography
Aswini is part of the Academic Resource Centre at the University. She has 14 months experience of Research Assistantship working in the ELTRA- British Council project “Beyond gendered textbooks: An investigation into gender(ed) discourses in secondary English language classrooms in India and Uganda” at IIITDM-Kancheepuram. Her research interests revolve around Teaching English as a second language and learners’ negotiation with the socio-cultural dynamics in the language classroom.
She has a Master’s in English from Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Sriperumbudur. She holds an Integrated BA.B.Ed in English and Social Sciences from the Regional Institute of Education (NCERT), Mysuru.
Her master’s thesis focused on understanding the metacognitive listening awareness of school students in Kanyakumari district, Tamil Nadu.
She has freelance experience as an English tutor, public speaking trainer and copy editor. She also likes to write poetry, follow travelogues and go on spontaneous trips.
