Biography
Karthik Pinto’s work lies at the intersection of education, community engagement, and social impact. Over the past eight years, he has led and supported initiatives focussed on government partnerships, alumni networks, and large-scale teacher development across Karnataka. He began his career as a teacher at Sita School and went on to work extensively with STiR Education, where he designed and implemented education programmes in partnership with state-level bodies like DSERT and Samagra Shikshana Karnataka.
At Anahata United Efforts Foundation, he served as State Head, where he spearheaded the “Powering STARRS” programme, reaching 795 residential schools. He also led multi-stakeholder trainings, state-level launches, and donor relationship management. His strengths include programme design, government liaison, training facilitation, and monitoring and evaluation.
A graduate in commerce from Bengaluru University, Karthik holds a Master of Arts in Education from Azim Premji University. His academic interests lie in understanding how education systems can be strengthened through people-centric processes — particularly alumni, teacher, and youth engagement.
Karthik currently focuses on building meaningful alumni engagement frameworks and career mentoring opportunities for students. He is also deeply interested in storytelling as a tool for community building and professional learning.
Outside of work, Karthik enjoys cooking, reading, and travelling — especially to rural parts of India where he explores educational innovations and community-led change.
