Harshika Dalakoti is a faculty of economics at Azim Premji University, Bengaluru. She holds a PhD from Indian Statistical Institute, Delhi center and a master’s degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University. Her research primarily focuses on mechanism design, bilateral trade and behavioural economics. Her doctoral dissertation considers finding an optimal mechanism to dissolve a partnership between two loss averse agents who hold some shares of an asset. Her job market paper ​“Optimal Dissolution Mechanism with Loss Averse Agents” studies the dissolution mechanism intermediated by a broker which maximises the weighted average of gains from dissolution and expected revenue from dissolution. 

Her two other working papers are on designing a feasible and incentive compatible mechanism such that the mechanism implements efficient outcomes. She has broadened her research agenda to include choice theory, investigating how projected beliefs shape equilibrium behaviour in settings where agents derive utility not only from their own preferences but also from coordinating their actions with those of others.
